Jigging

RANGES: Mining & Quarrying

Pulsating Jigging is the separation of material during jigging takes place as a result of periodical influence of the upward and downward of water (pulsations) on the layer of separating material (the jigging bed), located on the sieve. During the pulsations the bed is loosened and compacted, the particles of different density mutually move on its height: with small density – into upper layers, with big density – into bottom layers.

The upper layer of small density is separately removed as an overflow over a weir plate as wastes and, sometimes, intermediate product, whilst the big density flows under the weir to be separated as recovered materials.
